I was six years old when my parents bought me my first pair of black Converse low top shoes. Even at six I remember thinking these are the most amazing shoes I had ever seen. I loved how the dark black canvas looked and made the white toe piece, white stitching and white laces really pop! I loved the painted black lines that wrapped around the soles of the shoe and how they even had little metal open circles for laces and ventilation. I loved the logo on the tongue with that iconic star! I wondered who created them so perfect!
My love for Converse has never stopped and they are still the only shoes I wear today (I’m actually wearing them right now:)! To me I love them because they have always stood out from other shoes! They are unapologetically original and “one of a kind” and I love that about them!
When I first started sketching out the idea for this painting something REALLY started resonating in my heart on how I really like the idea of something being created to be “unapologetically original and one of a kind”! Then I felt in my heart God reminding me that I was created that way. That He created you that way! I remembered the words from Psalms saying... “Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.”
I hope when you look at this painting (or print) something in your heart resonates with you being marvelously made! That you are an awesome creation purposely hand crafted by the most loving and gifted artist/creator ever! I hope it encourages everyone who sees it to live out their lives boldly and unapologetically knowing they are an original “one of a kind” masterpiece!

For Double Matted Luster Fine Art Paper Prints add 4 inches to each side for the Double Matte. Example: an 11x14” print will have a Matte sized 15x18”
*Please note: the 31x24” and larger sized luster paper prints will not come Matted, and will include a 0.5" white border around the print. These larger prints ship rolled in a tube.
